IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • LODGING: There are no more rooms at Ferry Beach, and rooms at nearby motels are filling up. See the Travel & Lodging page for details. Also, many of the rooms at Ferry Beach can sleep up to 4 people. If you have a room with extra beds that you'd be willing to share, or would like to find an extra bed at Ferry Beach to sleep in, post in and check out the Lodging Board.
  • MEALS: If you are lodging off-site, we highly encourage you to have your meals with us at the conference. That way you don't have to go off-site for meals and miss the wonderful networking and community building time, or be stressed about the time-crunch. Meal plans at Ferry Beach are $45 for three meals a day, or individually for $12/breakfast, $17/lunch and $21/dinner. To book your meals, simply call Ferry Beach (207.282.4489) and book your meal plan, letting them know it's for POW.
  • TRANSPORTATION: Ferry Beach is 30 minutes south of Portland, ME and 90 minutes north of Boston, MA. Transportation via car service provided by Ferry Beach is available to and from the Portland Jetport and Portland Bus Station for $20 per person each way, and the Saco train station for $10 per person each way. To reserve your spot(s), please fill out their Transportation Request Form and fax (207-283-4465) or email (registration@ferrybeach.org) it back to them completed ASAP. Alternatively, you may use the Travel Board to coordinate carpooling.
  • CHILDCARE: Bringing children to the conference? This year we'll be offering limited childcare so you can attend workshops with ease! Space is limited, so reserve your child's spot now.
  • THURSDAY NIGHT SHOW: Thursday evening kicks off the pre-conference with a fantastic line-up of top-notch local music! The show is open to anyone registered for POW - so even if you won't be joining the keynoters for multi-hour workshops on singing, storytelling, improvising, writing, and meditation, you can come early and spend Friday at the beach!

The TLA Network exists to support and promote individuals and organizations that use the spoken, written, or sung word as a tool for personal and community transformation.
