Goddard-TLA Network Partnership

A partnership between Goddard College and the TLA Network provides all currently-enrolled Goddard students (in any of the BA, BFA, MA and MFA programs) a 10% discount on the Power of Words conference.

People who complete the TLA Foundations certification benefit in several ways: through a $1,000 scholarship to any of Goddard College's programs, and for TLA-experienced students, through the option to apply for an accelerated MA degree in TLA.

Goddard College, home of the first MA program in TLA, will grant a scholarship to all incoming Goddard students — in any BA, BFA, MA, or MFA program — who have completed the TLA Foundations certification. This scholarship gives the student, once accepted into the college, a $500 grant for his/her first two semesters, totaling $1,000 in all. Learn more about Goddard College’s programs here, which include BA programs, a BFA in Creative Writing program, MA programs — including the MA in Transformative Language Arts, and MFA programs. All programs are low-residency, allowing students to work from home while coming to campus for a 8-day residency at the start of each semester.

Graduates from Goddard College's Graduate InstituteAdditionally, the college's Goddard Graduate Institute (GGI) offers a concentration in Transformative Language Arts in the Individualized MA, Social Innovation and Sustainability MA, and Health Arts and Sciences MA programs. Students may study TLA in relation to individual, community and cultural health and healing; sustainable businesses and communities, ecological and environmental restoration, stewardship, activism, and related topics; or a wide variety of other focuses, such as community-building, collaborative arts, spiritual engagement, consciousness studies, right livelihood, social change, narrative medicine, and more. All students design their own study plan based on their passions, livelihoods, practices, and communities.

Students who have extensive experience, and training or certification are eligible to apply for a fast-track accelerated option to complete a 36-hour MA instead of the standard 48-hour MA in GGI programs. See more here or contact admissions at the college, or email Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, coordinator of the Transformative Language Arts MA at Goddard via her Goddard email here.
